Putin’s decree to increase the army is associated with a shortage of infantry in Ukraine and an imbalance towards equipment – experts

Putin’s decree to increase the number of military personnel by almost 140 thousand people has nothing to do with the losses of the Russian army at the front in Ukraine. Recruits are needed because of the insufficient staffing of the army in principle, military experts say. Even though Russia has a lot of military equipment, the Ukrainians have more people in battalions, which allows them to better control the battlefield and the surrounding area. This is due to the long-term reduction of the armed forces and planning miscalculations in the formation of the state defense order.
