However, on the day of the rocket attack, a charity concert by the singer Roxolana (Roksolana Sirota) was planned there. A member of her team, 25-year-old sound engineer Evgeny Kovalenko, died. At 11 o'clock, just before the impact, he parked his car in front of the House of Officers and was about to enter the building to begin preparations for the concert. Three more members of the Roxolana bands and singer Olya Cybulskaya were injured.
On July 9, the Russian military attacked Chasovoy Yar. According to the head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration (OVA) Pavel Kirilenko, the shelling was carried out with missiles from the Hurricanes. The State Emergency Service reported 43 dead, including a child (a boy of about 9 years old).
