Australian artist paints graffiti with hugging Russian and Ukrainian soldiers after criticism

An Australian artist (pseudonym CTO) painted over his graffiti after criticism from the Ukrainian community and public pressure. Earlier, on the wall of a house in Melbourne, he depicted the embrace of Ukrainian and Russian soldiers.

Ukrainian Ambassador to Australia Vasily Miroshnichenko called the work "extremely offensive to all Ukrainians":

"The artist has no idea about the invasion of Ukraine, and it is unfortunate that this happened without consultation with the Ukrainian community in Melbourne."

CTO ended up apologizing for their work, adding that it was "clumsy".
