The head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, who recently admitted that he "stayed too long" in his position and deserved "indefinite leave", has changed his mind. Now he claims that he does not want to leave, but wants to break the record of being in power. He spoke about this in his Telegram channel.

On September 3, Kadyrov posted a video in which he stated that his "time has come." According to him, he heard somewhere that he is a "long-liver" among the current heads of regions, since he has been in charge of Chechnya for 15 years. And he cited a Caucasian proverb: "No matter how respected, long-awaited the guest is, if he leaves on time, then it is even more pleasant." Kadyrov added that he wanted to leave before he was "kicked out."

Today he recorded a new video and said that he decided to "defuse the atmosphere" - he is not going to leave anywhere: "I can leave only by asking the people and the president of Russia." According to him, no one can leave his post "at this crucial time, when our country is fighting against world Satanism in the Donbass."

Kadyrov said that he learned that he was not such a "long-liver" and that it was not he who set the record among regional heads, but Yevgeny Savchenko, the former governor of the Belgorod region, who served in office for 27 years. Now Kadyrov has a new goal - he wants to break this record.

After he announced a possible vacation, Meduza and Nestka, citing sources, wrote that he could move to the National Guard and take a leadership position there: replace the current head of the department, Viktor Zolotov. Then Kadyrov's place would have been taken by State Duma deputy from Chechnya Adam Delimkhanov.
