In Moscow, a candidate for deputies of the Basmanny district from Yabloko, a member of the Left Socialist Action, Nikita Arkin, was detained. This was announced by his colleague Nikolai Kavkazsky.

Arkin is charged with an article on the demonstration of prohibited symbols (part 1 of article 20.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses). According to her, he loses the right to run for elections next year.

Before the elections, which will be held in Russia in September, criminal and administrative cases against independent candidates are massively filed across the country. So, on August 24, Nikolai Kasyan, a candidate for municipal deputies, was detained in Moscow. He is also accused of displaying extremist symbols.
