German businessman who gave ‘bribe’ to Nikita Belykh says he received money from FSB – Siena

German businessman Yuri Zudheimer, during an interview with the Swiss prosecutor's office, said that he received the money that he transferred to the governor of the Kirov region Nikita Belykh in 2016 from the FSB. The Lithuanian publication Siena writes about this, the Agency drew attention .

“This scammer made me give him money. But the bribe that Nikita Belykh received was not mine. It was FSB money, this is all an FSB operation, ”Zudheimer said in response to a question about his involvement in the case of the former governor. A record of his response is contained in the interrogation protocol obtained by the Lithuanian publication Siena (translated by The Agency).

At the same time, in response to a question from Siena journalists, Zudheimer said that these words were “taken out of context.” The businessman's company SCT Lubricants said that all actions in the Belykh bribe case were carried out in accordance with Russian laws.

In 2018, Belykh received eight years in a strict regime colony in a bribery case. According to the investigation, in 2016 he received 100,000 euros from Zudheimer, who, according to the investigation, turned to the security forces in advance and was a witness in the case. Belykh himself insisted that the money was intended for an off-budget city fund for the reconstruction of facilities in the Kirov region. His defense called the detention of the politician a provocation.

According to Belykh, Zudheimer could have slandered him under pressure from the security forces. “All this is a banal provocation on the part of law enforcement agencies, built on the words of people dependent on them. Let me remind you that Zudheimer was detained by law enforcement agencies,” Belykh said at the beginning of the process.

In July 2021, the serving term Belykh became a defendant in a new criminal case in connection with the alleged damage to the Kirov region for 740 million rubles. The Investigative Committee of Russia charged the ex-governor with two episodes of abuse of office, which led to grave consequences. We are talking about loans that in 2012 and 2015 were taken from the company "Uralchem" "daughter" of the regional government - JSC "Kirov Regional Mortgage Corporation" (CRIC). She was later bankrupt, and her debts were collected by the arbitration court.
