The prophecies of Vladimir Zhirinovsky were based on knowledge and understanding of the situation. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin at a meeting with the leaders of the factions of the State Duma, he is quoted by RIA Novosti. Putin did not cite specific statements by the founder of the Liberal Democratic Party, but Zhirinovsky claimed last year that 2022 would not be peaceful, hinting at a possible outbreak of hostilities in February of this year. Thus, the president confirmed that the politician's words were based on knowledge.
“Vladimir Volfovich was not just an outstanding political figure in our country, a very versatile person, with great, deep knowledge. Hence some of his prophecies that come true. They are not out of nowhere, they are not built on playing cards, but on knowledge, on understanding the development of the situation, on the prospects for the development of these situations.
The most important thing is that Zhirinovsky was a patriot of Russia, and all his activities were based on this patriotism, Putin added.
Earlier, the Institute of World Civilizations (IMC) in Moscow was renamed in honor of Zhirinovsky, since he personally initiated the creation of the WMC. “Our institute has acquired a new status! Now we are Zhirinovsky University!” — stated in the message on the website of the Institute.
Zhirinovsky died on April 6 at the age of 75. He fell ill with coronavirus in early February, was transferred to a ventilator against the background of pneumonia, and at the very beginning of the war, on February 26, he was put into an artificial coma. Member of the same party Alexander Pronyushkin claimed that Zhirinovsky died on March 25, without leaving a coma. According to one version, his body was kept in the morgue for two weeks to be presented to Putin for farewell, since no one can approach the president without observing a 14-day quarantine.
