Tatyana Kasimova, the acting head of the Khamovniki municipal district and a candidate for municipal deputies, was detained in Moscow. She herself reported this to OVD-Info.

She was detained at the Khamovniki territorial election commission and taken to the local police department. Kasimova is charged with violating the article on the public demonstration of extremist symbols (Article 20.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses).

Before the elections, which will be held in Russia in September, criminal and administrative cases against independent candidates are massively filed across the country. So, on August 24, Nikolai Kasyan, a candidate for municipal deputies, was detained in Moscow. just like Kasimova, he is charged with displaying extremist symbols. This article is the basis for withdrawal from the elections. Earlier, similar charges were brought against candidates Marina Litvinovich, Mikhail Menshikov and Vadim Korovin.
