The service of electronic and audiobooks Storytel will stop working in Russia from October 1

The Swedish service Storytel will leave the Russian market. This is stated in the letters from the company, which were received by subscribers of the service. “We have sad news - you can continue to use the application only until September 30 of this year, from October 1, the application will become unavailable,” the message says. It is noted that funds for unused subscription days will be returned to customers.

After the termination of the service in Russia, Storytel subscribers will receive three months of free access to the Litres book service, the company promised, RBC reports .

In early March, Storytel temporarily suspended all operations in Russia due to Russia's military incursion into Ukraine, citing "deep concern" over the fighting and the humanitarian crisis it has caused. The company has temporarily suspended the production of new content and its acquisition in Russia. Then the subscription was returned for a while, but now the company has announced that it is leaving Russia for good.
