Ukraine bought access to the ICEYE satellite. It allows you to get detailed pictures of the earth’s surface and see people on them.

In Ukraine, 600 million hryvnias ($17 million) collected within the framework of the People's Bayraktar project were used to buy access to the satellite of the Finnish aerospace company ICEYE, which will allow the country to receive detailed images of the earth's surface, regardless of the time of day and weather conditions. This is stated on the page of the charitable foundation of the Ukrainian TV presenter Serhiy Prytula on Facebook. Ukraine also acquired access to the company's data for a year.

Due to the high resolution of the photo, up to 25 centimeters per pixel, individual people can be distinguished in microwave images.

Prytula himself said that today ICEYE has the most advanced radar satellite imagery technology, which meets the needs of the Ukrainian government and will greatly help the country's Armed Forces to monitor the fighting.

As Alpha Centauri writes , the ICEYE grouping devices observe the Earth in the microwave (SAR) range, the data is updated every few hours.

The Sergei Prytula Foundation previously raised funds for the purchase of three Bayraktars from the Turkish aircraft manufacturer Baykar Makina. Then the Baykar company decided to donate three drones to Ukraine, and leave the collected funds to help the country's Armed Forces. Norway and Canada also launched a campaign to raise funds for the purchase of Turkish drones. In just three days, Lithuania managed to raise €5 million for the purchase of one Bayraktar. The Turkish manufacturer said that it would again give Ukraine a drone free of charge, and the funds raised could be used for other needs of the country.

"Bayraktar" is the common name for the drones of the Turkish company Baykar Makina, founded by Özdemir Bayraktar. Now the director and co-owner of the company is one of his sons, Selçuk Bayraktar, who became the son-in-law of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The most famous of the company's drones is the Bayraktar TB2, which is in service with Ukraine. It can stay in the air for up to 24 hours, rise to a height of up to 8.2 km and attack targets from a range of 8 km. In 2018, Ukraine signed an agreement with Turkey on the supply of drones, and during the Russian invasion, it became one of the symbols of the Ukrainian army.
