Death toll from explosions at fireworks warehouse in Yerevan rises to six

The death toll from explosions at a fireworks warehouse at the Surmalu market in Yerevan has risen to six, more than 60 people were injured. This was reported by Interfax with reference to the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Armenia.

15 people are considered missing.

In the morning, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan arrived at the scene of the tragedy. According to RIA Novosti, work on extinguishing the fire continues, small pockets of fire remain.

Updated: Head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Armenia Armen Pambukhchyan ruled out the possibility of a terrorist attack on the market.

On August 14, an explosion occurred at the warehouse, after which a strong fire started, part of the building collapsed. Then it was reported about one dead, another 26 people were injured. Chairman of the National Assembly of Armenia Alen Simonyan stated that people could still remain under the rubble.
