A case was opened against the archaeologist about “fake” stories about the army. He was detained during an archaeological expedition

The Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee for the Omsk Region opened a case of “fake news” about the army against an archaeologist from Omsk, Evgeny Kruglov.

According to Mediazona , the reason for the case was Kruglov's repost of news about military operations in Bucha and Mariupol from the closed VKontakte group. According to the Investigative Committee, he had previously been brought to administrative responsibility in the case of "discrediting" the army.

According to OVD -Info, Kruglov was interrogated in a criminal case on July 22 in the Tyumen region, where he was on an archaeological expedition. Operatives and OMON specially arrived in the neighboring region to detain the scientist and deliver him to Omsk.

Since the beginning of the war in Russia, criminal cases have been initiated massively against citizens about "fake" stories about the Russian army. Also, the Russian police drew up more than three thousand protocols on the "discredit" of the Russian army.
