The Ministry of Justice on Friday, July 22, added to the register of individuals - "foreign agents". The list includes Navalny team member Ruslan Shaveddinov, blogger Maxim Katz, politician, municipal deputy for the Krasnoselsky district of Moscow Ilya Yashin, TV presenter Tatyana Lazareva, blogger Veronika Belotserkovskaya. According to the Ministry of Justice, they all receive funding from Ukraine, engaging in political activities.

Veronika Belotserkovskaya was also arrested in absentia in the case of fakes about the army. Under the same article, Ilya Yashin is in jail.

On June 29, the State Duma adopted in the third, final reading the law “On Control over the Activities of Persons Under Foreign Influence”. According to the new law, anyone can be recognized as a so-called foreign agent. To do this, it is enough, according to the authorities, to be under "foreign influence" even in the absence of foreign funding.
