The United States will send another $270 million in military assistance to Ukraine, almost half of the funds will be spent on the purchase of drones

The United States will provide Ukraine with another $270 million military assistance package, as well as the supply of four HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS). It is also reported that $ 100 million of this money will go to the purchase of drones. This was stated by White House spokesman John Kirby. The funds will allow Kyiv to purchase 580 new Phoenix Ghost tactical drones. In addition, the package includes an additional tranche of $175 million for other defense needs and military training. This follows from a document on the White House website.

In July, US President Joe Biden announced an additional $400 million military aid package for Ukraine. It included four HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) and ammunition, three tactical vehicles, 155-mm artillery ammunition, explosive ammunition, counter-battery systems, spare parts for military equipment and other equipment. According to the US Department of Defense, in total, the country has already allocated about $ 8 billion in defense assistance.

The European Union, in turn, recently sent another €500 million to provide military assistance to Ukraine. In total, Europe donated €2.5 billion for weapons for Kyiv.
