Court in The Hague intends to consider the first case of Russian war crimes in Ukraine this winter – Bloomberg

The International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague plans to file Russia's first war crimes indictment in Ukraine this winter. Bloomberg writes about it.

According to sources of the publication, the final date of the meeting has not yet been set. They also refused to provide specific details of the case at hand.

At the trial, according to Bloomberg, at least one Russian prisoner of war will speak. Agency sources said he could testify against his command.

On March 3, ICC Prosecutor Karim Haan opened an investigation into reports of war crimes and crimes against humanity in Ukraine committed by the Russian army. After that, he arrived in Ukraine to collect evidence of Russian war crimes. In May, 42 ICC experts were also sent there to investigate alleged war crimes. This is the largest mission ever undertaken by the court prosecutor's office.
