In Russia, they will no longer be able to bleach office paper, but unbleached is better for the eyes – Ministry of Industry and Trade

Unbleached office paper from Russian manufacturers, unlike imported white paper, is good for the eyes, says Oleg Bocharov, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade. His words are quoted by RIA Novosti. Russian manufacturers have lost supplies of chemicals for paper bleaching due to sanctions.

“We learned that reflective white office paper is harmful to health. It turns out that more textured paper is useful for human eyes,” Bocharov said at the council on the development of the forestry complex.

He also added that the cost of such paper is falling. “Therefore, we believe that this was a serious maneuver by the pulp and paper mills,” the official said.

According to him, Svetlogorsk, Kondopoga and Turin combines have already started making unbleached office paper.

The official assured that consumer demand for unbleached paper is now much higher than for ordinary white paper, moreover, it is more environmentally friendly and causes less harm to the nature of Russia.
