Georgian businessman Levan Kacharava was shot dead in Tbilisi. This was reported by Rustavi-2 TV company.
According to Mtavari Arkhi, unidentified persons shot the businessman in his car. About 20 bullets were fired at the businessman. The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia opened a criminal case under articles 108 and 236 of the Criminal Code of Georgia (premeditated murder and illegal acquisition, storage, carrying of firearms).
Kacharava is a co-founder of the investment company Silk Road Group. It owns the largest provider of fixed communications, cable television, broadband access and IPTV Silknet in Georgia, as well as the Georgian mobile network GeoCell. Other Kacharava companies have been involved in a variety of projects around the country.
