The Russian military shelled the Sumy region with banned phosphorus weapons. This was stated by the head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration Dmitry Zhivitsky, who published the consequences of the shelling in his Telegram channel.

“Video from one of the villages of the Yunakovskaya community, which the Russians fired from the Grads. Phosphorus shells are prohibited in warfare! Information about the victims and destruction is being specified, ”he wrote.

In May, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky claimed that Russian planes were regularly dropping precision bombs and phosphorus bombs on buildings where people were hiding.

Also, Russian troops use Soviet ammunition filled with propaganda leaflets from the Chechen war during the shelling of Ukraine, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Yevgeny Enin reported. He showed a 122 mm caliber projectile from the Grad system and the leaflet itself.
