In the Kursk region, pylons of power transmission lines (power lines) powered by nuclear power plants were blown up, and a criminal case was initiated on the terrorist attack. It is reported by TASS with reference to the Center for Public Relations (DSP) of the FSB.

The report claims that the explosion was carried out by "Ukrainian saboteurs." A search is underway for the perpetrators and their accomplices. After the “sabotage”, measures were taken to strengthen the security of nuclear power facilities.

The FSB clarified that they are referring to the incidents on August 4, 9 and 12, as a result of which six towers of high-voltage power lines (110, 330 and 750 kV) were blown up. Through these transmission lines, the Kursk NPP supplies energy to "industrial, transport, life support, social infrastructure and population of both the region and neighboring entities."

Baza writes that unknown people in the Kursk region also blew up part of the railway, there are damages to the railway tracks in the area of ​​​​the 14th kilometer of the Lgov-Lokinskaya section, which were noticed by the lineman. More than a dozen police officers and specialists attended the scene. It turned out that someone had planted an explosive device “weighing about 200 grams of TNT” under the rail and blew it up.

In the Kursk region, damage to railways and power transmission towers has recently become more frequent. On August 10, unknown people tried to undermine the Lgov-Sudzha railway, on August 9, the second support of the power line was blown up. The damaged support is located 20 km from the Kursk nuclear power plant and 100 km from the border with Ukraine. The previous similar case in the private sector of Kurchatov was reported on August 4: the distance between two damaged pillars is about 15 km. The Kursk region has been shelled since the beginning of the war. On the night of July 2-3, the Armed Forces of Ukraine attacked Kursk, the city is located 130 km from the border with Ukraine. The governor of the region, Roman Starovoit, said that the main impact of the mortar shelling fell on the territory near the sugar factory in the village of Tetkino, the roofs, windows and facades of several houses were damaged.
