Nabiullina: “External conditions have changed for Russia for a long time, if not forever”

Head of the Central Bank Elvira Nabiullina spoke at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. She announced the need to redirect production to the domestic market, Interfax writes .

“We, as a country, are currently losing from participation in the international division of labor, because our exports are at a discount, imports at a premium. And in these conditions, of course, in my opinion, it is necessary to rethink what we also talked about, but did not promote - the benefits of exports, ”Nabiullina believes.

According to her, if imported goods are not purchased with export funds, then the role of exports should be reconsidered.

“We need to rethink and, finally, think that a significant part of production should work for the domestic market, more processing, more creation of final products,” Nabiullina said.

She added that "external conditions have indeed changed for a long time, if not forever, have changed significantly."
