In Kyiv, the court changed the sentence of the Russian military from life to 15 years in prison

The Kyiv Court of Appeal mitigated the punishment of the Russian military Vadim Shishimarin, who was accused of killing a civilian. Instead of a life sentence, he was sentenced to 15 years in prison. This was reported by "Graty" in their Telegram channel.

At the end of May, Vadim Shishimarin, 21-year-old squad leader of the 4th Panzer Kantemirovskaya Division of the Moscow Region, was sentenced to life imprisonment. He was accused of violating the laws and customs of war, combined with premeditated murder, under Part 2 of Art. 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Shishimarin pleaded guilty. This was the first time a Russian soldier had been sentenced for killing a civilian in Ukraine.

In February, Shishimarin shot an unarmed resident of the Sumy region. Prior to this, the column, in which Shishimarin was, was defeated by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Fleeing, the sergeant and four other Russian soldiers fired on a private car and seized it. They drove into the village in a stolen car, killing a man on the way, who was returning home on a bicycle and talking on the phone. One of the military ordered Shishimarin to kill a civilian so that he would not report them to the Ukrainian military.
