In St. Petersburg, volunteers are being recruited for a motorized rifle battalion to be sent to war

A motorized rifle battalion of volunteers is being formed in St. Petersburg to be sent to war in Ukraine, Fontanka reports , citing sources. This information was confirmed to the publication by the military registration and enlistment office of the Primorsky district of the city.

Volunteers are offered to sign a contract for six months, candidates receive 100,000 rubles from the governor. Those wishing to go to war need to undergo training, which takes about a month. They promise that after sending to Ukraine, payments will continue.

“Coordination [combat] takes place in Luga, that is, you are going to Luga. There you get the salary of a soldier not in wartime, that is, the rank, position, all allowances, bonuses, complexity-tension, like an ordinary person. After you pass a medical examination, coordination, you are appointed to a position, sign a contract, you are paid 100 thousand. When the unit goes west, you get paid $53 a day plus an "offensive" $8,000 a day. Plus surcharges for military merit: BMP (infantry fighting vehicle), drone - 50 thousand rubles, tank - 100 thousand rubles. That is, people there receive from 200 thousand to half a million, ”the Primorsky military registration and enlistment office told the publication.

Earlier, Meduza found out that a military unit had been formed in Moscow to recruit mercenaries to take part in the war against Ukraine. According to the publication, the unit is at least partially funded from the Moscow budget, and recruiters and mercenaries themselves call it the “Sobyaninsky regiment.” Enrollment started on July 1st. First, the mercenaries will be trained at the Mulino training ground in the Nizhny Novgorod region, after which they will go to Ukraine. Most of the mercenaries are not Muscovites, but residents of other regions. They are promised to pay more than 200 thousand rubles a month. Men under the age of 60 can enroll in the regiment. Representatives of PMC Wagner take part in the recruitment.

They are promised freedom and 200,000 rubles for six months if they agree to go to fight in the Donbas and stay alive after that.
