Britain will supply Ukraine with military aid in the coming weeks: dozens of artillery and anti-tank guns and hundreds of drones. Secretary of Defense Ben Wallace announced this.
The UK plans to supply Ukraine with more than 20 155mm M109 self-propelled artillery mounts (ACS) and 36 105mm L119 artillery pieces. Also, anti-tank Javelins, anti-battery radar systems, more than 50,000 artillery shells and hundreds of drones will be sent to Kyiv.
Wallace said the equipment would strengthen the Ukrainian Armed Forces' (UAF) ability to defend against Russian artillery use. Already, 6,900 anti-tank NLAW, Javelin, Brimstone units, six Stormer armored personnel carriers equipped with Starstreak anti-aircraft missile launchers and hundreds of missiles have been sent to Ukraine. The UK also supplied Brimstone naval missiles, multiple rocket launchers, 120 armored fighting vehicles, 82,000 helmets, 8,450 body armor kits and over 5,000 night vision goggles.
The Minister of Defense emphasized that together with international partners, it will be possible to provide Ukraine with the tools to protect the country from Putin's illegal invasion.
Earlier it was reported that the United States will provide Ukraine with four more HIMARS, thus, Ukraine will have 16 American MLRS. According to the head of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Mark Milley, Russia has not managed to destroy a single American MLRS. In July, US President Joe Biden announced an additional $400 million military aid package for Ukraine. It included four HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) and ammunition, three tactical vehicles, 155-mm artillery ammunition, explosive ammunition, counter-battery systems, spare parts for military equipment and other equipment. According to the US Department of Defense, the country has already allocated about $8 billion in security assistance.
The Insider wrote about how the Russian Ministry of Defense reported the destruction of HIMARS in the area of the settlement of Malotaranovka "DNR". However, at that time, three of the four HIMARS transferred to Ukraine were located in the Zaporozhye region - 300 km from Malotaranovka. The firing range of those HIMARS ammunition that was transferred to Ukraine is 45 miles (about 72.5 km), that is, it is impossible to fire at Russian troops in the Zaporozhye direction from the Malotaranovka area.
