The European Union published the seventh package of sanctions against Russia due to its invasion of Ukraine, a list of 57 individuals and companies subject to sanctions is published in the official journal of the EU, after publication it enters into force.
European authorities banned the import of Russian gold, including jewelry, and imposed sanctions against Sberbank. The restrictions also affected individuals, they are banned from entering the EU, and their European assets will be frozen. The document states:
- Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin;
- The son of the head of Rostec, Stanislav Chemezov;
- Andrey Kozitsyn, co-owner of the Ural Mining and Metallurgical Company (UMMC);
- First Deputy Prime Minister Andrey Belousov;
- Member of the Security Council and former Prosecutor General Yuri Chaika;
- Maya Bolotova, daughter of the head of Transneft, Nikolai Tokarev;
- Actors Sergei Bezrukov and Vladimir Mashkov;
- The leader of the "Night Wolves" Alexander Zaldostanov ("Surgeon");
- State Duma Deputy Adam Delimkhanov;
- Presidential Commissioner for Children's Rights Maria Lvova-Belova;
- First Deputy Director of the Federal Service of the National Guard Troops Viktor Strigunov;
- "Mayor" of Mariupol Konstantin Ivashchenko;
- Head of the "military-civilian administration" of Kherson Alexander Kobets;
- Member of the "military-civilian administration" of Zaporozhye Vladimir Rogov;

The sanctions list also includes the Yunarmiya movement, Rossotrudnichestvo, the Russkiy Mir Foundation, and the Alexander Gorchakov Foundation for Public Diplomacy.
Earlier, the head of the EU foreign policy service, Josep Borrell, said that the seventh package of EU sanctions included Sberbank, the Night Wolves biker club, the military and other persons involved in Russia's aggression against Ukraine and disinformation.
Before that, Borrell said that the sanctions would not stop the war in Ukraine, but should create a lot of economic problems for Russia. The European Commission proposed the seventh package of sanctions against Russia on July 15. Before that, Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala said that it would not include restrictions on Russian gas imports. According to him, this is due to the fact that when introducing new sanctions, the rule must be respected, according to which they should have a greater impact on Russia than on the countries that impose them.
