The owner of the Russian business of the British cosmetics chain Lush plans to close all Russian stores. Kommersant writes about this with reference to three participants in the retail real estate market.
According to the publication, the reason for the company's departure was the inability to organize deliveries to Russia even through "parallel imports". One of Kommersant's sources said that the British office of Lush suspended deliveries to Russia back in March. According to him, the last batch bought did not reach Russia, stuck in Riga.
Another source of the publication said that the company plans to temporarily maintain an online store in Russia, through which the remains from the warehouses will be sold.
In early March, Lush's main owner in Russia, Dmitry Azarov , said he would close 17 of 48 Russian stores and lay off 200 of 500 employees. According to him, after the British company announced on March 10 that it would suspend deliveries of products to Russia, the network faced a crisis.
