The Moscow Institute of World Civilizations was named after its founder, the first leader of the Liberal Democratic Party, Vladimir Zhirinovsky, who died in April. This was reported by TASS with reference to the press service of the party.

“Over twenty-three years of work, the institute has accumulated a wealth of experience in training highly qualified specialists who have made a significant contribution to the development of domestic and world science. Trained a large number of personnel for the new economy in more than fifteen areas of training. The result of confident development was the assignment of the status of a university and the name of the founder - V. V. Zhirinovsky, who had an invaluable influence on the development of our university! — stated in the message on the website of the Institute.

Zhirinovsky founded the university in 1999. Now the institute trains specialists in the fields of international relations and geopolitics, modern law, management and economics, design and "civilizational communications", journalism and "intercivilizational interactions and linguistic translation technologies."

In the courtyard of the Institute there are monuments to Zhirinovsky by the sculptor Zurab Tsereteli.
