German self-propelled howitzers Panzerhaubitze 2000 "finally" entered service with the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This was announced on Twitter by the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksiy Reznikov.
155-millimeter installations are capable of firing at a distance of up to 40 km - this is one of the most powerful artillery pieces in service with the Bundeswehr. Germany during the last month promised to start deliveries of seven installations to Ukraine. Five more similar howitzers should be provided by the Netherlands.
“Now our gunners will turn the heat on the battlefield,” Reznikov wrote.
In June, the Ukrainian authorities announced that the war with Russia had become an artillery war. At the same time, the Armed Forces of Ukraine lack neither guns nor ammunition. Now the country relies on arms supplies from the West.
