Macron told Zelensky that it is possible to save nuclear installations at the ZNPP only with the withdrawal of Russian troops

French President Emmanuel Macron held telephone conversations with Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky. During the conversation, they discussed the situation at the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant, Macron said that the only way to ensure the safety of the station and the safety of nuclear installations is the withdrawal of Russian troops. The message is given on the website of the Elysee Palace.

Macron also reiterated support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine. He indicated that he was ready to counteract the split of the world, despite the manipulation of information by Russia.

Zelensky on Twitter also commented on the conversation with Macron. According to him, the call lasted an hour and a half, he informed the French president about the situation at the front and countering the aggression of the Russian Federation:

“Coordinated further defense support from France. We exchanged assessments of the results of the IAEA mission at ZNPP.”

On September 5, ZNPP for the second time in history was completely disconnected from the power grid connecting the station with the power system of Ukraine. This happened due to a fire caused by shelling, Energoatom reported.

Earlier, The Insider had at its disposal a video of the operation of Russian multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) from the territory of the ZNPP, it was filmed on the night of September 2-3. The footage shows that the MLRS are located in close proximity to the power unit.
