The former chief narcologist of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation Yevgeny Bryun, as well as the deputy head of the Association of Narcologists of Russia Vladimir Yakushev, are accused of embezzling 20 million rubles from the Moscow Department of Health through front companies.

Brun is accused of large-scale fraud related to tenders for the supply of test systems. He does not admit guilt. On August 20, the court chose a measure of restraint in the form of house arrest, which was requested by the investigation, "taking into account the age and state of health of the narcologist."

Brun was detained on August 19, and he and Yakushev are suspected of having organized, through a network of affiliated companies, government agencies to purchase tests and reagents for drug addiction at inflated prices.
