Coffee producer Tchibo left Russia

The German company Tchibo GmbH, the fourth coffee producer in the world, has left the Russian business. Coffee under the Tchibo and Davidoff brands will be supplied until the end of the year, and then the Russian subsidiary of the company will have to change its name, Kommersant reports .

According to the Unified State Register of Legal Entities, Chibo GmbH ceased to own Chibo CIS LLC in July. The new owner of the business was LLC "MVK" of the general director of "Chibo CIS" Mikhail Kovalevsky. Sources of the publication say that Cibo CIS retained the rights to use the Tchibo and Davidoff coffee brands until the end of 2022, after which the company should continue to supply coffee under the new brand.

One of the options is the Gold brand, according to Kommersant's interlocutors. Mail "Chibo CIS" is already working on the gold-coffee domain.

"Chibo CIS" produced coffee under a contract at the facilities of the "Grand-NN" factory in the Nizhny Novgorod region and imported part of the products from foreign sites of Tchibo GmbH. As stated in the reporting, more than 70% of business in 2020 was provided by the sale of locally produced products.

In May, Finnish Paulig announced the sale of an enterprise in Tver to the head of Milagro Beverage Company (Milagro, D'Arte, Belagio brands) to Indian citizen Vikas Soi. During the summer, the factory will continue to produce coffee under the Paulig brand, and in September it will start selling it under the Poetti brand.
