There are no restrictions on the issuance of visas and entry into the United States for Russians – State Department

There are no restrictions on the issuance of visas and entry into the United States for Russians. This statement was made by State Department spokeswoman Julie Stafft, who oversees visa issues.

She noted that now the US Embassy in Moscow does not accept applications for visas "due to restrictions imposed by the Russian authorities on the work of the embassy," however, Russians can apply and receive a visa at any US diplomatic mission in other countries.

“And they do it regularly, we welcome it,” said Stafft.

On August 8, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that Western countries should ban all Russians from entering their territory, as well as expel Russian citizens so that they “change their philosophy.”

This was followed by a statement on the ban on only tourist visas from the Prime Minister of Estonia, but the European Commission clarified that the EU visa code does not provide for the termination of the issuance of short-term visas throughout the EU, and each country makes its own decision on restrictions.
