Marina Ovsyannikova was placed under house arrest

The court chose the ex-employee of Channel One Marina Ovsyannikova as a measure of restraint in the form of house arrest, her lawyer Dmitry Zakhvatov said .

“Marina Ovsyannikova was placed under house arrest. House arrest for a solitary anti-war picket... I don't even know what to say. It's good that I'm not guarding? Certainly good. But it’s still sickening,” wrote Zakhvatov.

Ovsyannikova was charged under an article for spreading fake news about the Russian army based on political hatred.

The reason for the case was the picket that Ovsyannikova held near Red Square. In her hands she held a poster with the inscription “Putin is a killer” and a mention of Ukrainian children killed by Russia.
