Purina stops production and sales of Friskies for cats and dogs

Purina has stopped the production and sale of Friskies food for cats and dogs in Russia due to logistical difficulties. This is reported by TASS with reference to a representative of the company's hotline.

It is clarified that due to difficulties in the supply of raw materials, the production and sale of Cat Chow, Dog Chow, Gourmet and Darling Dog feeds have also been stopped.

Food brands Purina One, Purina One Dog, Felix, Proplan will continue to be sold in Russia.

Purina is part of Nestle. In March, Nestle announced that it had suspended trading operations related to a number of goods due to Russia's military intervention in Ukraine. The suspension regime affected, in particular, products of the Nespresso system, S.Pellegrino mineral water, KitKat and Nesquik brands.

In mid-July, it became known that in Russia, due to sanctions and the withdrawal of Western companies from the market, imported veterinary drugs are gradually disappearing , including those needed for vaccinating animals when traveling abroad.

In large chain pet stores Beethoven and 4 Paws, vaccines of brands approved by many countries, Nobivac, Eurican, Feligen and Purevax, have disappeared from sale. Rabies vaccines have not completely disappeared yet, they can be found in some chain stores. Owners have to call dozens of clinics in search of imported vaccines, since domestic drugs are not suitable for traveling abroad.
