The first racket of Russia Daria Kasatkina won the WTA tournament

The first racket of Russia Daria Kasatkina became the winner of the Silicon Valley Classic WTA 500 tennis tournament in San Jose, California. According to the Women's Tennis Association (WTA), Kasatkina is guaranteed to return to the top 10 tennis players in the world (now she ranks 12th in the WTA rankings).

In the final, the Russian woman defeated Shelby Rogers from the USA, the match ended with a score of 6:7 (2:7), 6:1, 6:2. This is Kasatkina's fifth WTA tournament win in her career.

Earlier, in the 1/4 finals, the Russian tennis player beat the sixth racket of the world Arina Sobolenko (Belarus), and in the 1/2 finals - the fourth racket of the world Paulo Badosa (Spain).

In July, Kasatkina came out and said that she was dating a girl. After that, the host of Match TV and PR agent Sofya Tartakova supported the tennis player and refused to take part in a talk show in which Kasatkina was “drenched in shit”, which is why she was suspended from work. The channel discussed interviews with Kasatkina and Andrei Rublev. The presenter called the program "a freak show for tongue-tied deputies, pseudo-experts and people who are looking for five-minute fame."

On July 18 (on the day that Kasatkina's interview in which she came out came out), Russian deputies submitted to the State Duma a bill banning the propaganda of "non-traditional relationships and the denial of family values." Now only the propaganda of "non-traditional sexual relations among minors" is punishable.
