The work of HIMARS demoralizes the Russian military, so the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation lies about the destruction of installations – ISW

The Russian Ministry of Defense is probably lying about the destruction of HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems, as their strikes demoralize Russian soldiers. This is written by the Institute for the Study of War (ISW).

The ISW summary states that due to Ukraine's effective use of American MLRS, the Russian military and journalists make false claims about their destruction. For example, on August 2, RIA Novosti quoted Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu as saying that Russian troops had destroyed six launchers and more than 200 HIMARS missiles. On August 1, the Ministry of Defense reported that as a result of a “precision strike” on Kharkov, two installations were destroyed on the territory of the Ukrainian Energy Machines plant.

However, according to the commander of the operational command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine "South" Andriy Kovalchuk, Ukraine has not yet lost a single HIMARS. “This demonstrates how well and quickly we learned how to use HIMARS,” he emphasized.

According to an unnamed Finnish official, Russian reports that it is destroying HIMARS are likely "wishful thinking". The Pentagon also denied Shoigu's words.

On July 28, the Armed Forces of Ukraine hit HIMARS on the Antonovsky Bridge, which is strategically important for Russia. After that, the Russian military group in Kherson was cut off from the main units and supplies. “The Antonovsky Automobile Bridge suffered such damage that practically excludes its operation at the moment as a cargo bridge. It can be crossed on foot, but not by car,” military expert Sergei Grabsky told The Insider.
