The United States allocates another $550 million to Ukraine to ensure security. Washington has provided $8 billion in military aid since February.

US President Joe Biden signed a memorandum on the allocation of military assistance to Kiev for $ 550 million, according to the representative of the US National Security Council John Kirby, reports The Hill.

“Today, U.S. National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan, Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, Chairman of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff Mark Milley spoke with Ukrainian colleagues about continued support for Ukraine (...) and briefed them on a new $550 million security assistance package, which the Biden administration will approve today,” Kirby said at a White House briefing.

Earlier it was reported that since February, Washington has provided Ukraine with military assistance in the amount of more than $8 billion.

The new aid package will include ammunition for HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems. On August 1, Ukraine received four more HIMARS from the United States. This was announced by Defense Minister Alexei Reznikov. In total, 20 HIMARS systems have already been delivered to Ukraine, as well as three M270 MLRS launchers and three Mars II rocket launchers. Artillery now plays a key role in the development of events in Ukraine.

Ukraine also successfully used French CAESARs - it was they who, most likely, helped the Armed Forces of Ukraine to drive the Russian garrison from Zmeiny Island. Later, Russian propaganda repeatedly threw in information about the loss and even sale of howitzers by Ukrainian military personnel.
