Former US President Donald Trump has been accused of burying his first wife, Ivana, at his golf club in New Jersey to be exempt from taxes, reports the Daily Mail. According to local laws, the land in the cemetery is not taxed.

Brooke Harrington, a professor of sociology at Dartmouth, an expert in tax law, drew attention to this. She tweeted, "So I checked the New Jersey tax code and guys...it's a triple tax evasion." New Jersey law exempts burial land owners from real estate and personal property taxes, income taxes, and sales taxes.

Harrington later clarified that there are no clauses in the law about how many graves must be on the land for it to be considered a cemetery and be exempt from taxes.

Ivana Trump, 73, died at her Upper East Side townhouse on July 14. She died from injuries sustained after falling down the stairs.

The farewell took place on Wednesday, July 20, in New York. Trump described his ex-wife as "a wonderful, beautiful and amazing woman who lived a wonderful and inspiring life." The couple were married from 1977 to 1992.
