Philip Kirkorov was not allowed to enter Moldova, where he flew to testify in the case of financial fraud

Russian singer Philip Kirkorov was denied entry to Moldova. According to officials of the Moldovan border service, he was not allowed in because "the conditions for obtaining permission to cross the border" were not met.

Kirkorov flew to Chisinau on the evening of July 28 and was detained at the airport. Lawyer Aureliu Colenco, who is conducting a criminal case against the Moldovan deputy from the opposition Shor party, Marina Tauber, arrived there. He stated that the singer flew to Moldova to act as a witness.

“Philip Kirkorov is one of the key witnesses in the Marina Tauber case. And the Moldovan authorities are afraid that Kirkorov will give truthful testimony. Which we will provide in the near future to the court and for review by the press, ”said Kolenko.

Tauber is accused of illegal financing of the party and violation of financial reporting. According to the prosecution, she organized a concert in Chisinau, which was supposed to take place on June 19, 2022, and where Kirkorov and rapper Morgenstern were supposed to perform. Tauber allegedly paid them $200,000 and $60,000, respectively, but the police forbade the concert. The Prosecutor General's Office of Moldova claims that the musicians did not return the fee. This was one of the reasons Tauber was charged and stripped of her immunity.

On July 26 and 27, Kirkorov gave concerts in the Russian-annexed Crimea. A few days earlier, he recorded a video message in which he invited wounded Russian soldiers to his speeches:

“Now more than ever it is important for us to unite. Together we are a huge force. I'm on my way to the Crimea. I so want to see all the Crimeans, but I will especially look forward to all our heroes. I invite our wounded soldiers to my concerts, who are recovering their health in Crimean hospitals and sanatoriums. Russia is a great country!"
