“Dear customers, H&M stores in Belarus will reopen in August.”
Shoppers were told that all H&M stores in Belarus would accept unwanted textiles, and they could also use vouchers that were received for returning clothes in stores before closing.
Earlier, Kommersant reported that H&M is looking for buyers of the Russian business. The information was confirmed to Interfax by the Ministry of Industry and Trade. The department clarified that the state is ready to provide support to new owners, which can be both Russian companies and investors from "friendly" countries.
H&M announced its withdrawal from Russia on July 18. The chain planned to temporarily open Russian stores to sell off the remaining goods. H&M will spend about 2 billion Swedish kronor ($190 million) on leaving Russia. H&M Group suspended sales in Russia on March 2. The H&M online store was closed as well as 155 physical stores. At the same time, chain stores in Belarus were closed “for an indefinite period”.
