Zelensky nominated Servant of the People MP Andriy Kostin to the post of Prosecutor General of Ukraine

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky nominated Andriy Kostin, people's deputy of the Servant of the People party, to the post of Prosecutor General of Ukraine. He invites the Verkhovna Rada to agree to this appointment.

Andrei Kostin is 49 years old, he has the status of a lawyer. Earlier, Kostin applied for the position of head of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office, and then, as Ukrayinska Pravda recalls, public organizations called his reputation " dubious ."

According to Liga.net, Kostin was recommended to the Servant of the People election list by Andriy Yermak, head of the presidential office.

On July 17, Zelensky removed Irina Venediktova from the post of the country's Prosecutor General in accordance with the law "On the legal regime of martial law." Venediktova worked as Prosecutor General for a little over two years.
