“There is a complete ass going on there: parents storm the administration, they don’t take their children out, they don’t say names and surnames. Major Tumanov <according to Anna, we are talking about a “major of the LDNR” - The Insider> keeps the children, the administration closed the doors and did not let anyone in. Parents stand, asking for reasons why their children are being detained, but they give no reasons.
It is very difficult, parents beg and ask to call, but they are not given. [Relatives] say: “You are the prosecutor of the Russian Federation! Help! Why are you so afraid of Major Tumanov that you don’t even let them see you and call your children?“ Even Ukrainians don’t do that! Ukrainian soldiers are visited by their wives, money is given to them, and our soldiers are completely mocked. I no longer know where to call, I already called Moscow.
We are afraid that they will be killed there, that they will be sent to a hot spot, or I don’t know what.
The Insider also managed to contact one of the "refuseniks" who was on the territory of the center. According to him, Tumanov, about whom relatives talk, is in the rank of lieutenant colonel. He said that they were forced to work on the spot, and now some of the people were transported to the city of Krasny Luch, where they came under fire from the Armed Forces of Ukraine:
“Yesterday they sent me and the guys to work, they worked from 11 am to 11 pm, they fed only 1 time. When they sat down to rest, threats flew like: “Let’s hurry up, if you don’t unload ammunition in 30 minutes, we will talk differently.” We work for no one. Not a single person was in the form of the Ministry of Defense. After we moved to a new place. The former zone in the Red Beam. <The distance between Bryanka and Krasny Luch is 64 km - The Insider.> When we arrived, we came under heavy fire from HIMARS. They wiped out the local canteen from the face of the earth. I don’t feel safe, but they continue to keep us here.”
On July 21, it became known that the Russian military who refused to fight in Ukraine were sent to a special center for “refuseniks” in Bryanka, Luhansk region. The Insider spoke to one of them who arrived in Bryanka on July 22. Ivan (name changed) wrote a report about his refusal to participate in the war due to moral unpreparedness. Before being in Bryanka, he spent three months in the war. In Bryanka, the military is told that they need to go through two conversations - with a psychologist and with commanders who will decide what to do with the “refusenik”.
Another interlocutor of The Insider - the father of one of the "refuseniks" - said that after three months of service, Russian contract soldiers were promised a vacation and the opportunity to refuse to participate in hostilities. However, when they decided to leave Ukraine, having written refusals, they were detained and taken to Bryanka, where they have been kept in custody for more than a month. He said that contractors are kept in terrible conditions: “Some kind of pits, torture and the like. This is what the people who come from there say.”
