Russia plans to restore Mariupol in three stages. They want to build a park on the site of Azovstal — Donbass.Realii

The Russian authorities plan to restore Mariupol in three stages - until the end of 2022, from 2023 to 2025 and until 2040. This is stated in the document of the Ministry of Construction and Housing and Communal Services of Russia "The concept of a master plan for the development of the city." It was received by Donbass.Realii journalists from Ukrainian intelligence sources.

At the first stage, the Kremlin plans to restore the city's infrastructure. In the document, in addition to residential and industrial areas, as well as educational and medical institutions, the construction of cemeteries is highlighted as a separate item. In addition, by 2025 Russia expects to increase the population of Mariupol by 50,000 people.

For 2040, the Kremlin plans to develop the transport system of Mariupol. According to the "Concept of the master plan for the development of the city", a railway to Volnovakha will be built in the city, passing through the local airport. Another road that Russia is going to open is a highway through Mariupol to Crimea and Odessa. In the plan, it is designated as "the international transport corridor of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation."

A separate point of the "Concept" is the development of the territory of the Azovstal plant. The Russian authorities offer four options: the resumption of production, the creation of a public and business platform, and two types of park. The first - with the redistribution of jobs in the agricultural industry, the second - with the creation of new ones, in the tourism sector.

The most expensive option is to restart production. According to the Kremlin, it could take almost 300 million rubles. The second version of the park will cost the Russian authorities 113 million, the first one - 72 million, and the creation of a public and business platform - 78 million.
