Roskomnadzor blocked the website of the Heinrich Böll Foundation

Roskomnadzor, in accordance with the requirement of the Prosecutor General's Office, blocked the website of the German Heinrich Böll Foundation, previously recognized in Russia as an "undesirable organization". This was reported by Roskomsvoboda.

The Heinrich Böll Foundation was founded in 1996. The organization supports eco-oriented ideas, advocates for the strengthening of democracy and the participation of civil society in politics. The fund's partners are running projects in about 60 states, according to the organization's website.

In May 2022, the fund was recognized in the Russian Federation as an "undesirable organization". According to the version of the Prosecutor General's Office, "the fund's activities pose a threat to the constitutional order and security of the Russian Federation."

Recognition of an organization as undesirable means that any of its activities on the territory of Russia are prohibited, and cooperation with it can lead to the initiation of a criminal case and punishment in the form of imprisonment.
