Scientist Dmitry Kolker, who was sent to a pre-trial detention center with stage four cancer on charges of treason, where he died a few days later, was arrested on the basis of a certificate issued by a random therapist at a municipal hospital. This was reported by Mediazona with reference to the document itself. The handwritten certificate says that “patient Dmitry Kolker” was examined on June 30 at 08:00, the diagnosis was “prostate disease”. “Today, he can participate in investigative actions and attend the court session,” the short document says. He pointed out that "at the time of the examination" the scientist was diagnosed with a "state of moderate severity."
The certificate contains the seal and signature of the doctor Alexander Mikhailovich Romanenko. On the website of the Novosibirsk Regional Hospital, it says that this is a therapist. He couldn't be Caulker's doctor.
There is not a word in the document that the patient has cancer, and not of the prostate, but of the pancreas with metastases. At the same time, such a diagnosis is included in the list of serious diseases that prevent detention, the newspaper notes. The real diagnosis of Kolker is confirmed by the results of a CT scan, which was carried out on June 23, a week before the arrest. However, at the trial, the investigator stated that there was no medical justification for choosing Kolker a preventive measure not related to detention, the newspaper writes, referring to the minutes of the meeting in the Soviet District Court.
According to Kolker's lawyer Alexander Fedulov, the senior investigator for especially important cases of the first department of the investigative department of the FSB of Russia, V.V. Morozov, most likely went to the regional hospital and simply asked a random doctor to write this certificate.
“He would have been taken into custody without this certificate anyway, it didn’t play a special role. And the incorrect indication of the diagnosis is rather unintentional, it is a mistake. She's just talking about how careless the attitude is that they didn't even bother. Wrote it wrong - and a ride, ”says Fedulov.
