Putin allowed all residents of Ukraine to obtain Russian citizenship in a simplified manner

Putin signed a decree allowing all citizens of Ukraine to apply for Russian citizenship in a simplified manner. The document was published on the official Internet portal of legal information.

Prior to this, the right to simplified citizenship was granted only to citizens of Ukraine living in the “DPR”, “LPR”, as well as the occupied Zaporozhye and Kherson regions.

The “head” of the so-called city military-civilian administration of Melitopol, Galina Danilchenko, previously appointed by the Russian authorities, said that from June 21, an additional point for paying benefits will open in the city. According to her, they will be able to receive, including large families and single mothers. Thus, residents of Melitopol who have received Russian passports without a residence permit will not be able to count on them. At the same time, as RIA Melitopol clarifies, Ukrainian passports are not canceled when issuing Russian ones.
