One of the adopted laws covers a whole range of situations for which you can go to a colony for up to 20 years. This is the law "On criminal liability for calls to action against the security of Russia, for participation in hostilities against it and for confidential cooperation with foreign intelligence services." It introduces articles into the Criminal Code, according to which:

- For "public calls to carry out activities directed against the security of the state," a person will now face a fine of up to 500 thousand rubles or from 2 to 4 years in prison.

- For participation in hostilities against the interests of Russia, its citizen will go to a colony for up to 20 years, and will have to pay a fine of up to 500 thousand rubles.

- The same punishment awaits those who “go over to the side of the enemy in an armed conflict or hostilities”, this will be qualified as treason. Whether the surrender will be qualified in this way - the law does not stipulate. “This will definitely reach the military,” Ivan Pavlov, head of the First Department human rights team, told The Insider. “The work will be carried out, the political instructor will conduct an individual and collective conversation, he will say: “Now it is impossible to surrender and we fight to the last, and those who are captured will, as before, be awaited in their homeland with an initiated criminal case.”

- Confidential cooperation of Russians with foreign intelligence services will be punished by imprisonment for up to eight years and a fine of up to 1 million rubles. This article will cover simple contacts with any foreign organizations, Pavlov believes: “In practice, this will be very simple to prove: there will be a certificate or message signed by an FSB general stating that this or that organization is cooperating with special services. Laconically, without substantiation and facts, just a verdict.”

- Criminal punishment is introduced (up to 7 years in a colony) for "illegal sending abroad of information constituting a state secret." Recall that in November 2021, the Ministry of Defense began to prepare the ground for planting under this article and published a draft order on information that constitutes a state secret. In the list of 800 positions, almost any information relating to the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation can be classified as a state secret.

- Now for "repeated propaganda or public demonstration of symbols of Nazism and extremist organizations" will be punished under a criminal article - the violator faces up to 4 years in prison. Recall that the extremist organization in Russia also includes the company Meta, which owns Facebook and Instagram, as well as the symbols of Smart Voting. It is also not clear whether the monuments will finally be planted. For example, a monument to SS Gruppenfuhrer Krasnov in the Rostov region and SS Gruppenfuehrer Shkuro on the territory of kindergarten No. 221 in Krasnodar.

Some of the adopted laws concern the data of Russian citizens. For example, now banks can transfer the biometric data of Russians to the Unified Biometric System (UBS) without obtaining their consent. But not everything is so bad - the person himself will be notified about the transfer. This regulation will take effect from March 2023.

The State Duma also adopted a law on classifying data from Rosreestr. Now you can get information about real estate from the USRN database for a small fee; this information is based, in particular, on the investigations of journalists and oppositionists about the property of Russian politicians and security officials. Now it will be impossible to obtain an extract about the copyright holders of a particular palace without the permission of the owner of this property.

Another law gives Rosfinmonitoring the right to receive information from the Unified State Register of civil status records. The department itself explains that the measure is aimed at combating corruption - it will allow you to study the environment of the person who fell under the check: find out if he changed his name, and get information about his marriages.

Companies will be forced to work around the clock and forcibly for the Russian army

A number of laws concern the Russian economy, it is openly reformatted for wartime. In particular, a draft law was adopted on providing the Russian armed forces with operations outside the country. The government will be able to "reactivate mobilization capacities and facilities" and establish "in certain organizations and enterprises" overtime working conditions - at night, on weekends and holidays. If such measures are applied, legal entities “regardless of their organizational and legal form and form of ownership” will not be able to refuse agreements and contracts for the supply of goods and services for the army. At the same time, the Ministry of Defense will be able to change the terms of the contract after it has been concluded.

A law on the closure of "counter-sanction information" was also adopted. In fact, data on transactions in the field of foreign trade will be classified, which in the future may lead to sanctions.
