At least 346 children killed during war in Ukraine – Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine

During the war in Ukraine, at least 346 children were killed, more than 645 were injured. It is reported by the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine. In its report, the agency emphasizes that this is not final data, as the count of victims continues in the temporarily occupied and liberated territories, as well as in places of active hostilities.

Most children were affected in:

  • Donetsk region - 346,
  • Kharkiv region - 186,
  • Kyiv region - 116,
  • Chernihiv region - 68,
  • Luhansk region - 61,
  • Nikolaev region - 53,
  • Kherson region - 52,
  • Zaporozhye region - 31.

The Prosecutor General's Office reports the latest recorded victims. On July 3, a 4-year-old girl was seriously wounded in Bakhmut, she died from her injuries. On July 5, a 2-year-old boy was wounded as a result of shelling by Russian troops of the village of Pechenegy in the Chuguevsky district of the Kharkov region.

The Prosecutor General's Office also notes that 2,108 educational institutions in Ukraine were damaged by Russian bombing and shelling. Of these, 215 were completely destroyed.
