Slovyansk in the Donetsk region of Ukraine was shelled with cluster munitions, as a result, 4 people were killed and 7 were injured. This was announced by the head of the city military-civilian administration (VGA) Vadim Lyakh in the Telegram channel. According to the mayor, the shelling took place on the evening of Friday, July 1.
The Limany microdistrict came under fire: Barvinkovskaya, Podgornaya, Danilevsky streets. Lyakh noted that this is a private sector, where there are no military installations.
“Slavyansk is being shelled with cluster shells. They open overhead like fireworks, but instead of beauty, they bring death. Such shells do not cause total destruction to buildings, but are very dangerous for people: 90% of the dead and wounded were on the street. Consider this. Do not leave the premises unnecessarily,” said the head of the VGA.
On June 30, Lyakh reported that Russian troops fired on Slavyansk, 6 people were injured: “Another shelling of the city. Two explosions of cluster shells. General Batyuk Street and Volnaya Street. 6 wounded." On June 27, he spoke about the Russian strike on the residential areas of Slovyansk. A house on Torskaya Street and a private sector nearby were damaged by the missile attack. According to him, then there were killed and wounded, but he did not specify their number.
On the night of July 1, Russia launched a strike on the Odessa region, one of the missiles hit a nine-story house in the village of Sergeevka, Belgorod-Dnestrovsky district. The number of victims has risen to 20, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine reported. It is also known about 38 victims, of which six are children. According to the operational command "South" of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Tu-22 aircraft launched a missile strike, three X-22 missiles hit a 9-storey residential building and two recreation centers.
