Boris Johnson received the title of honorary citizen of Odessa. He became the first Briton to hold this title.

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson received the title of honorary citizen of Odessa, the award is an expression of gratitude from the mayor's office of the city for protection from the "aggressor". This was announced by the mayor of the city Gennady Trukhanov, his words are quoted by the Odessa newspaper "Dumskaya" in the Telegram channel.

According to the mayor, Johnson will be the first British citizen to receive such a title since 1862.

“We highly appreciate the help of your country, your Prime Minister. Therefore, I signed an order to award Boris Johnson with the Badge of Honor named after Grigory Marazli I, II, III degrees,” the mayor said.

Earlier in June, Johnson came to Kiev, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reported. He posted a video of his meeting with Johnson. This was his second visit, Johnson had already visited Ukraine after the start of the war. In April, during his visit, he promised to send 20 armored vehicles and new anti-ship missile systems.
