Musicians of the St. Petersburg Governor’s Orchestra, who ripped off a poster with the letter “Z” at their workplace, were offered to quit

The musicians of the St. Petersburg Governor's Orchestra, who several times tore down a poster with the letter "Z" hanging on the wall above their work schedule, were offered to quit. This was reported by the Rotunda Telegram channel, which published a screenshot of the correspondence of one of the musicians with the inspector of the orchestra, Guy Davtyan.

“We are a state institution supporting our president. If you allow yourself to tear down the symbol of our country's politics, then you have no right to work in a state institution. Tomorrow I am ready to accept an application from you of my own free will,” Davtyan wrote.

In a conversation with the channel, Davtyan confirmed that he offered to resign to anyone who does not like the letter “Z”, which is used by the Russian military in Ukraine and their supporters. Davtyan said that the poster was hung not by him or the administration, but by one of the musicians. At the same time, Davtyan considers it wrong to disrupt it: “This is not very appropriate in the situation in Ukraine.”

Initially, the symbols "Z", as well as "V" were applied to military equipment with which the Russian army invaded Ukraine. After that, the Russian Ministry of Defense officially began to use these symbols as support for the Russian military. In many cities of Russia, flash mobs are held using these symbols, often state employees, students or children are driven to them. For example, the Kazan hospice staged a flash mob with the participation of child patients, their parents and staff - they all lined up in the shape of a large letter "Z" on the street.

“The inspector said that no one was fired for this sabotage and they are not going to. But if they saw how the poster with the letter Z was being torn down, they would have had an educational conversation with the employee, ”the Rotunda writes.
